August 2011

The shoot with Alice bore some wonderful fruit. Alice is a very bright and beautiful model and full of ideas. Confined as we were to her bedroom we made a pretty good fist of things. We took some straight-forward boudoir stuff that I think worked really well with a “What the butler saw” kind of vibe. But the really successful pictures were ultra wide angle shots. Alice said she wanted to take some pictures standing on her bedside cupboard. So that’s what we did. I love spontaneity and knew the UWA lenses would pep up the images, but they really exceded my expectations. We had talked about our common fondness for the video game “American McGee’s Alice” and the images nod in that direction towards a dark surrealism.

Check out the pictures in the Beauty section.
